Unearthly (Unearthly #1) by Cynthia Hand
In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into placeand out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to makebetween honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.
I read this book months ago but never got around to writing a review on goodreads so here's one now. I did personally like this book because it was a fantasy romance (and we all know how i love me the fantasy romance) but i liked it because it was the first angel book that i actually liked reading about. There are more books in the series i think but i didn't really feel the need to read the rest. Clara is part angel and has a purpose on earth. That purpose involves a boy, and shes supposed to save him. At least that's how she perceives her visions. The Visions lead her to a new state, new school, and new friends.Everything is all fine and dandy, shes getting close to Christian and her visions are getting more detailed, until she meets Tucker. She falls for him hard. Then she goes through the whole am i supposed to be with Christian or Tucker. In the end she chooses Tucker while still saving Christian. The ending is made to where you want to read the next book to find out what happened but i kind of liked leaving things where they were. But would recommend this book to fellow teenage Book Addicts like me :)
